#TuesdayTunes : The Ultimate Elvis Workout Playlist
Trying to get into shape, I find myself lacking the motivation to keep pushing through the pain in a workout. After investing in a brand new elliptical machine, I thought that would be enough to motivate. Unfortunately, I still lack the urge to use it.
Thankfully, I have developed the perfect playlist to get in at least 30 minutes of cardio a day. Elvis made some toe-tapping songs which make them the perfect work-out songs for any Elvis fan.
When a song that I love starts playing I have to finish listening to it. This playlist is exactly what I need to get keep going.
There are many songs I pretend Elvis is singing to or about me. This makes me want to get in shape that much more. Some of these songs include:
T-R-O-U-B-L-E
Burning Love
A Little Less Conversation
A Big Hunk O’ Love
Long-Legged Girl (With the Short Dress On)
Elvis Medleys
Medleys are something that will always get me going. Even though I know exactly what song is coming next, it’s still exciting to hear Elvis transition and hear the audience react to this. These medleys made the cut:
Live at Midsouth Coliseum
(Long Tall Sally / Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On / Mama Don’t Dance-Flip Flop And Fly / Jailhouse Rock / Hound Dog)
Medley: (Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear / Don’t Be Cruel
Medley: Mystery Train / Tiger Man
Movie Hits
Out of the 31 movies Elvis made, there were fast-moving tunes that would have been impossible to not add to this incredible playlist. Here are just a few:
Spinout
Viva Las Vegas
Bossa Nova Baby
Rock-A-Hula Baby
Long-Legged Girl (With the Short Dress On)
A Little Less Conversation
Off-The-Wall
Elvis recorded some of his best music in the 1970s (personal opinion). It was necessary for me to add some off-the-wall jams to get me excited about working out:
I Got a Feelin’ in My Body
Three Corn Patches
Find Out What’s Happening
Talk About The Good Times
For The Heart
Faded Love
There are about 20 songs on my current workout playlist. If you have a Spotify account, follow the playlist by clicking here.
Maybe these songs would help motivate you to get a workout in. Try them out and let me know what other Elvis songs I should add to my playlist to keep me going in the future.
