Date Night with Elvis? Okay, but make it Mexican-themed!
“This is no time for siesta, this is time for fun.”
– Elvis Presley, Fun In Acapulco, 1963
This is no time for siesta. This is time for a Mexican date night with Elvis! Where to start? No worries, we’ve got you covered!
To kick off “Date Night with Elvis” let’s get in the spirit of Cinco de Mayo with a Mexican-themed date night.
For starters, we need to make the perfect playlist! Luckily the perfect songs can be found on the album Fun In Acapulco on Spotify.
Now that you have the perfect playlist, start your night by making dinner together. On the menu: chicken tacos. You can’t forget the starters: chips and salsa AND queso!
I prefer an easier recipe because I am not a chef by any means and need to follow written out steps. If you are more like me, here is an easy recipe to follow. If you are more experienced, create your own or use your favorite. (Feel free to share your favorites with us!)
While making dinner, have these songs playing in the background to set the mood:
- Vino, Dinero Y Amor
- El Toro
- The Bullfighter Was a Lady
- Bossa Nova Baby
- Mexico
- Guadalajara
Vino, Dinero Y Amor
Keep the music going with this playlist as you eat dinner and share a conversation:
- You Can’t Say No in Acapulco
- Fun In Acapulco
- (There’s) No Room to Rhumba in a Sports Car
- I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here
- Marguerita
You Can’t Say No in Acapulco
End the night by watching Fun In Acapulco and maybe indulging in a margarita… or two!
If you want to keep the night going, spend time making the perfect dessert: churros!
Share your night with us on social!
Until we meet again,
TCB and TCE,
